Players Code of Conduct
- All players should be ready to start training at the recognised training times.
- All aspects of hygiene must be strictly adhered to. Due to the nature of our sport it is of utmost importance to maintain clean feet, hands and Judo suits etc.
- There is to be no smoking within the Dojo (Judo Hall).
- All players are to endeavor to wear judo suits, loan suits are available for nightly use. Players must obtain a suit within 8 weeks of membership.
- Noise is to be kept to a minimum, whether on or off the mat. This applies equally to all spectators, parents and guardians.
- All players are to wear thongs, shoes, socks or sandals at all times when off the mat area.
- When entering or leaving the mat area, all players are to do a standing bow.
- The Instructors are to be respected for their rank and no discussions shall be taken into account once the Instructor has made a decision, if there is a disagreement approach the Instructor after the session has finished.
- No one is to leave the mat area without the Instructors authority.
- Players will control their temper, verbal abuse of Instructors or other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent is not acceptable or permitted. This could lead to suspension from the club depending on how serious the offense is.
- Avoid the use of derogatory language based on gender.
- Treat all players as you would like to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of another player.
- Co-operate with your Instructor, and all other players.
- All long hair is to be tied back, this applies to both boys and girls.
- Nail polish, hair spray, makeup, rings, ear rings or any other hard object is not permitted to be worn on the mat area.
- Toe nails and finger nails are to be kept clean and short at all times.
- All participants will train together, boys will train with girls and girls will train with boys, or whoever else they are directed to train with, regardless of age, sex, religion, size or race.
- At the commencement of each training session, all players will line up, Seniors first as a group and then within that group rank order. The U16’s, U13’s and U10’s then line up in rank order within their age groups. They will bow to Professor Jigaro Kano (Portrait) and also to the Instructor (Sensei).

- Train for the “Fun of it” and not just to please parents and Instructors.
